In December of 1964, after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, Dr. King gave a speech, where he said, “…a family unduly separated in ideas, culture, and interests who, because we can never again live without each other, must learn, somehow, in this one big world, to live with each other.”
We at O Street International believe in the importance of opportunities and outreach overcoming boundaries. It is the reason for our work and the central theme of the domestic and international programs we develop and implement.

Birthday Wish from Our Board President
Hello All,
Today, January 14th, is my birthday. In keeping with a tradition I started when I turned 30, I’m asking for your support. O Street International is working on a domestic exchange program, bringing a group of 20+ girls and 20+ boys from Atlanta to the DC and Northern Virginia area for an exchange program. The teachers, who started these groups, are trying to encourage these young students to reach their full potential and overcome boundaries. That is what O Street International is all about. The program O Street International is developing involves volunteerism, leadership, and life preparation, including financial and personal planning.
To make this possible, we need your help. O Street International is a nonprofit, and operates off the generosity of individuals like you who contribute to our work. I’m setting a personal goal to raise $1,000 this week for this program to celebrate my birthday.

Support O Street International through Domestic Exchange Programs
Boundaries and borders do not only exist in the form of oceans, land barriers, and country borders. They exist just as often in our opportunities. We are dedicated to providing the same outreach and opportunities to overcome boundaries at home as we are abroad. Currently, O Street International is working on a domestic exchange program that will bringing a group of 20+ girls and 20+ boys from Atlanta to the DC and Northern Virginia area for an exchange program. The teachers, who started these groups, are trying to encourage these young students to reach their full potential and overcome boundaries. That is what O Street International is all about. The program O Street International is supporting involves volunteerism, leadership, and life preparation, including financial and personal planning.

We are beginning our campaign to raise 10,000.00 for this program and host this exchange program this summer. Dear O Street International Supporters:
It is that wonderful time of year again, when we celebrate the Holiday season. It is a real pleasure, and indeed an honor, to reflect on the progress we have made this year. What a year we have enjoyed.
Every year is interesting and different – who would have thought that words like ISIS, Ebola, and Cyber War would become part of our everyday conversation? I hope that we can get beyond these global issues and I see our focus on Cultural Diplomacy being a major pillar in solving some of these issues and making sure they don’t happen again. And yet we continue to persevere through it all, remaining totally focused on our mission. This is what makes us a great organization, and sends us into 2015 on a positive note.
I hope that you will do what I am planning to do, that is, take some time to relax and enjoy the season with family and friends. If you are traveling, please be safe, and if you are staying close to home, please enjoy and celebrate with the people and traditions that are important to you.
Finally, always remember those friends, colleagues, and family members serving our country in distant lands who are unable to be here with us during this special time of the year – may we always honor their sacrifice for our great nation.

2014 Thanksgiving Message from our Board President
This very day each year, we pause to give thanks to those we love, our health, organizations we cherish, and to count our many blessings.
We all have so much for which to be thankful.
As you celebrate the Thanksgiving season, please take a moment to remember those who are not as fortunate- those who cannot share the freedoms with which we live, whether through economic hardship, distance, poor health, or in many cases, due to pain and tyranny.
This year, we established O Street International. We are having a good year and I thank you all for your support, encouragement, and contributions to our cause, which we hope will aid and inspire those in local communities within the United States and around the globe.
Finally, the freedom of our great country is something I am immensely thankful for and I wish each and every last one of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Let us all remember to give thanks to the men and women who are defending and protecting freedom and liberty in remote places all around the world. For all these things, we are deeply grateful.

Thanks to Monica Hargrove
O Street International will continue to reap success because of those who donate their time, energy, and treasure to our mission. Volunteering creates a greater synergy, passion, and deeper relationships with our organization’s supporters, partners, and those in which we aim to serve.
O Street International would like to thank Monica Hargrove for her contribution to our 2014 United Arab Emirates Sports and Wellness Diplomacy Program, held November 15th-21st 2014. From the very beginning, Monica’s professionalism and her ability to connect with the youth in Dubai and Abu Dhabi was evident. As a current professional track and field star, 2014 World Championship 4×400 Gold medalist, and current Under Armour model/brand ambassador- Monica is extremely busy and we appreciate her time and dedication.
Ms. Hargrove’s unwavering enthusiasm and support for O Street International and Sports Diplomacy was a key driver of our successful program and diplomacy efforts. Our programming focused on youth and coaches, to explore and share concepts of lifelong leadership skills, and the importance of sport culture relating to volunteerism and social responsibility.
We love and appreciate our volunteers. Without them, we would be unable to accomplish our mission of transforming international and domestic engagement ideas into high-impact solutions that energize cultural exchange and connect people around the world.
The Board of Directors would like to voice its sincere appreciation to Ms. Hargrove for helping us conduct a victorious program in UAE and we are looking forward to a successful program in 2015.
O Street International’s UAE Sports Diplomacy Program
O Street International is proud to be expanding the relationship with the UAE. The U.S. and UAE relationship has been growing significantly, particularly in the areas of health, sports, culture and social issues. O Street International is proud to be a part of this process, advocating and encouraging further engagement between the people of the U.S. and UAE.
This week, O Street International began a Sports and Wellness Diplomacy program, through a grant from the U.S. Department of State. During our programming, we will be conducting events and clinics with the youth of UAE. O Street International fully appreciates the important work done by our diplomatic community and we are honored to be working to support the U.S. as it strives to build stronger relationships with the people of the United Arab Emirates. In recent months, the UAE has also supported communities in the U.S., particularly, through its contributions to the creation of soccer fields in communities in New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Texas, to name a few. These types of events and exchanges support awareness and long term opportunities through outreach.
We continue the tradition of sports diplomacy, beginning what we hope to be continual programming on Sports and Wellness in the UAE, as well as in other areas of interest. We look forward to a growing relationship between O Street International and the people of the UAE for years to come.
